What is HIFU Treatment?
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) utilises ultrasonic energy to achieve facial lifting and body contouring. The ultrasonic energy targets the cells in the same layer that is manipulated during a surgical facelift. This would result in collagen stimulation that improves skin elasticity and firmness.
The best part? It is a non-invasive and non-surgical option that guarantees long lasting results even from a single treatment.
This versatile system is not just for facial rejuvenation – it can also be used to target localised pockets of fat, such as double chin. Fat reduction combined with the tightening and toning benefits of HIFU combine to make an amazingly effective procedure for reshaping the chin and jawline. How Does Doublo HIFU Work?
Precise HIFU energy is used to heat the skin from within, creating microinjuries which trigger natural healing responses.
Unlike other treatments, the Doublo can be used to work at every layer of the skin according to the individual treatment – from the outer epidermis to the deep dermis and even down to the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) which is described as the skin’s ‘scaffolding’ – including muscles and fibromuscular layers.
A single treatment stimulates the skin’s metabolic processes to regenerate skin cells, collagen, and elastin.
During the weeks following treatment, the skin will start to look smoother and brighter.
Fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced, but due to the collagen remodelling, there is then a noticeable lifting, toning, and tightening of the skin.
In the first few days following treatment, you will probably notice that your skin is more radiant.
However, deeper results tend to develop over a few weeks after treatment.

Post Treatment Care
Immediately after the treatment the skin may feel warm and tender to touch. Slight redness can last 1-2 days. You may experience some mild oedema (fluid like swelling) which is noticeable to yourself and your practitioner but not normally noticeable to others. This usually disappears after one week. Following treatment, you should avoid sunbathing or intense heat for 2 weeks. Makeup can be applied after 24 hours. We recommend that you drink 1-2 litres of water per day as staying hydrated can contribute to better results. Use gentle skincare products one week before and after treatment (avoid acids, hydroquinone, retinoic acid). You must avoid Botox injections for 2 weeks following treatment and dermal fillers for 2-3 months. You must avoid other skin tightening treatments such as laser/ultrasound/radiofrequency for 3-6 months.
